Student Disciplines



In case of violation against the rules, instructions, or announcements of the University, the students shall be subject to the following punishment:

1. Probation;
2. Intermission; and
3. Expulsion; this will occur after several instances of disciplinary violation, e.g. quarrels, use of alcohol and drugs, weapons, sneaking into the dormitory at night, and so on.


Regulations: The students should carefully read the announcements related to the dormitory rules and regulations. They must also strictly follow the rules and regulations established by the faculty and the University. In addition, the students should keep their valuables in a safe place. For example, they should not leave their notebooks (laptops) in public areas.

Access to the University

• By van service provided by private companies: Two routes are available. The Bangkok – Petchaburi vans are available at the Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal and the former Bangkok Bus Terminal, Pinklao whereas the Nakhon Pathom – Petchaburi vans are available opposite the Silpakorn University, Nakhon Pathom Campus.

• By first class air-conditioned bus from Bangkok Bus Terminal i.e. Bangkok – Prachuap Khiri Khan line and Bangkok – Bang Saphan line. For the travel on the University campus, only bicycles are allowed for students.

Regulations: Motorbikes are prohibited for students to avoid any possible accident.

Academic Advisors

All students will be taken care of and supervised by the academic advisors based on the program in which they are studying.

Regulations: Upon encountering academic or personal problems at the University, the students should ask for advice from the academic advisors, instructors responsible for the student affairs, and any relevant officers.

Student Dormitories

Office hours of male and female dormitories:
06.00 - 23.00 hrs.; all dormitories are supervised by the dormitory officers.

To properly provide and maintain the best security and compliance for the students in association and coordination with the dormitory instructors, any student violating the dormitory rules and regulations shall be subject to punishment ranging from a warning to dismissal, as well as penalties in accordance with the University rules and regulations.

Freshmen Welcoming Ceremony

As the first steps of the academic and personal experience at the University, the students have to adjust themselves to the new atmosphere, both physically and emotionally. So, the purpose of the freshmen welcoming ceremony is to enhance the unity and good relationship among the students studying in the same faculty. Various activities will be created and provided by the senior students. Such activities should be creatively and strictly organized under the rules and regulations of the University; they should not demoralize, harm, or violate the personal rights of the new students. Apart from this, the students should be willing to join the activities supervised by the advisors of student affairs. The freshmen welcoming ceremony is not allowed to be organized outside the University.

Regulations:The freshmen welcoming ceremony has been traditionally been inherited from generation to generation with the main objective to maintain the good culture of the faculty and to enhance good relationships among the students. As a rule, the students should willingly participate in the activities. In case of any violation against the rules and regulations of the faculty, the students should report it to the academic advisors or the division of student affairs for further proceedings.



The Faculty of Management Science was established in 2001 as the 12th faculty of Silpakorn University and as the 2nd faculty of Silpakorn University, Petchaburi IT Campus providing academic services since 2002.

 

 


At present, the baccalaureate curriculum consists of seven programs, as follows


Program of General Business Management;
Program of Tourism Management;
Program of Community Management;
Program of Marketing;
Program of Hotel Business and Accommodation;
Program of Business Management and English
Program of Public Administration
Program of Accountancy
Program of Exhibition and Event Management



Three programs of the graduate curriculum:


Program of Entrepreneurship;  

Program of Public and Private Management; and
Program of Public Administration


Scholarships

Scholarships of the Faculty of Management Science are derived from the following sources:
1. The scholarship from the central unit of Silpakorn University is granted to students of all faculties;

2. The scholarship provided by the Faculty of Management Science includes the academic merit scholarship, the educational promotion scholarship, scholarship for students contributing or working for the faculty, scholarship from donators and external departments; and

3. The student loan (KorYorSor) is granted depending on the allocation by the University for each faculty.

General Qualifications of Applicants

The students applying for a scholarship should not have sufficient funds for studying. They should have a good manner and not be involved with any gambling, drugs, or any vices. They should have a grade point average (GPA) at least 2.00 and participate in activities of the faculty and the University. In applying for a student loan (KorYorSor), apart from the aforementioned qualifications, the household income of the applicants should not exceed THB 200,000 per year, whereas such income must be certified by reliable persons.

Regulations: The students desiring to apply for a scholarship should regularly follow the scholarship news, information, and announcements via the faculty’s website and PR news bulletins because the scholarship must be applied within the first two months of each semester.

Uniforms for Freshman Students (Male)

1. Long sleeve shirts without any decoration;

2. Long slacks;

3. Leather black shoes (for classes) and white Nanyang shoes (for activities);

4. White socks without any decoration; and

5. Belts and buckles (these can be bought from the Faculty of Management Science)

Faculty Learning Activities

1. The internship is a must for all programs;

2. There are outside study trips / experience enhancement projects;

3. Additional English courses and classes by foreign instructors; and

4. Various self-learning sources available.

Regulations: The students should be enthusiastic about learning, both inside and outside the classes, especially with respect to foreign languages and technological skills to enhance their post-graduation potential and capability.

Learning Achievements

The students will be withdrawn from registration by the University in the following cases:

1. The GPA is lower than 1.50 upon the selection of a major (beginning from the second semester of the freshman students);

2. The GPA is lower than 1.80 for two consecutive semesters upon the selection of a major; or

3. The GPA is lower than 2.00 for four consecutive semesters upon selection of a major.

Regulations:Facing the problems related to learning achievements, the students should consult with their academic advisors for better self-adjustment to the University education program, Furthermore, they should make study and registration plans for each semester in accordance with the curriculum guide.

Health & Sanitation

Located on the 1st floor of the building between the dormitories Building 3 and 4, the nursing room of Silpakorn University, Petchaburi IT Campus provides health services by professional nurses. In case of severe sickness, the students will be transferred to the nearest hospital.

Regulations:The students should contact and go to the nursing room when they are sick. They should also inform the nurses about any congenital diseases or drug allergies. In case of emergency, the students can contact the dormitory officers 24 hours a day.

Expenses per Semester
The lump-sum registration and special fees for the Faculty of Management Science are approximately THB 25,000 per semester. This excludes the dormitory fee and other fees of the University. For the Program of Hotel Business and Accommodation, the students shall additionally pay for their duty uniforms.
University Activities

All University activities aim to provide an experience for the students so that they can learn from their own experience through various projects. By participating in the activities, the students will also enhance their responsibility, creativity, and teamwork before they further begin their actual career.

Regulations:Since the University aims to prepare the students for their future occupation, the students will gain knowledge from the classes, practices, and activities provided. As a result, the students should properly manage their time for aUniversity/life balance to achieve these goals and to satisfy the expectation of themselves, their guardians, and the University.

Uniforms for Freshman Students (Female)

1. Student shirts with triangle-folded sleeves without any decoration;

2. Black pleated skirts (longer than their knees);

3. White socks without any decoration;

4. White Nanyang shoes; and

5. Belts, buckles, buttons, and pins (these can be bought from the Faculty of Management Science)
