Philosophy            

                                 Currently, the country development approach focuses upon decentralisation and the
                                 provision for the general public’s participation in the development of their localities.
                                 This development approach has pushed community organisations to emerge, which
                                 will lead to development that originates from the social foundations. Helping to
                                 strengthen communities and society as a whole, this is sustainable national development.
                                 This approach requires producing human resources equipped with true knowledge
                                 and understanding about this development approach. It focuses on providing students
                                 with theoretical and practical learning to achieve an understanding about the essence
                                 of community management.

Objectives

                                 1. To equip graduates with knowledge about management and leadership for community
                                     management as drivers, participants and members of communities.

                                 2. To produce personnel for government, private sector and community organisations
                                     who possess knowledge and abilities concerning general management and community
                                     management and possess integrity in their work to contribute to sustainable development.

                                 3. To expand the concept for development that focuses on the quality of people, communities
                                     and society as a whole using a development-related approach to achieve a strong and
                                     sustainable society by means of participation of all sectors.

Qualifications

                                 1. Having successfully completed Matthayom 6 or equivalent with certification by the
                                     Ministry of Education.

                                 2. Meeting the Office of the Higher Education Commission’s selection criteria and/or
                                     the Faculty of Management Science’s regulations.

                                 3. Possessing other qualifications as required by the University.

Educational system

                                 An academic year consists of two terms: the first and second term, each of which is
                                 composed of a minimum of 15 weeks. The summer term consists of approximately
                                 eight weeks, and opening for a summer term is subject to the Faculty Committee’s
                                 approval. The maximum period of study in the program is eight years, and a minimum
                                 of 129 units is required.

Program structure

                                 1. General education courses: A minimum of 30 units

                                    1.1 Compulsory courses: 9 units

                                    1.2 Compulsory elective courses: A minimum of 12 units

                                    1.3 Courses required by the Faculty: A minimum of 9 units

                                 2. Specific courses: A minimum of 93 units

                                    2.1 Basic management courses: 27 units

                                    2.2 Compulsory major courses: 36 units

                                    2.3 Elective major courses: A minimum of 15 units

                                    2.4 Practical courses for community management: 15 units

                                 3. Free elective courses: A minimum of 6 units
